ISLAM has always been underestimated. An American Professor imagined the World without Muslims and found out the most surprising results! Ian Bremmer, a political scientist and a University professor, highlighted an important point that overall, Muslims account for just 0.00625%. Moreover, he actually imagined a world without Muslims and the post went viral in no time as the result is actually the opposite. Muslims are the reasons why the World became modern.

The professor, Ian Bremmer, highlighted all the inventions made by Muslims, right from toothbrushes to hospitals. Without Muslims you wouldn’t have: Coffee, Cameras, Experimental Physics, Chess, Soap, Shampoo, Perfume or spirits, Irrigation, Crank-shaft, Internal Combustion Engine, Valves, Pistons Combination Locks, Architectural Innovation (pointed arch - European Gothic cathedrals adopted this technique as it made the building much stronger, rose windows, dome buildings, round towers, etc.), Surgical Instruments, Anesthesia, Windmill, Treatment of Cowpox, Fountain Pen, Numbering System, Algebra and Trigonometry, Modern Cryptology, 3 Course Meal (soup, meat or fish, fruits or nuts), Crystal Glasses, Carpets, Cheques, Gardens (used for beauty and meditation instead of for herbs and kitchen), University, Optics, Music, Toothbrush, Hospitals, Bathing, Quilting, Mariner’s Compass, Soft Drinks, Pendulum, Braille, Cosmetics, Plastic Surgery, Calligraphy, Manufacturing of Paper and Cloth, and many more.

It was a Muslim who realised that light enters our eyes, unlike the Greeks who thought we emitted rays, and so invented a camera from this discovery.

It was a Muslim who first tried to fly in 852, even though it is the Wright Brothers who have taken the credit.

It was a Muslim by the name of Jabir ibn Hayyan who was known as the founder of modern Chemistry. He transformed alchemy into chemistry. He invented: distillation, purification, oxidation, evaporation, and filtration. He also discovered sulfuric and nitric acid.

It is a Muslim, by the name of Al-Jazari who is known as the father of robotics.

It was a Muslim who was the architect for Henry V’s castle.

It was a Muslim who invented hollow needles to suck cataracts from eyes, a technique still used today.

It was a Muslim who actually discovered inoculation, not Jenner and Pasteur to treat cowpox. The West just brought it over from Turkey.

It was Muslims who contributed much to mathematics like Algebra and Trigonometry, which was imported over to Europe 300 years later to Fibonnaci and the rest.

It was Muslims who discovered that the Earth was round 500 years before Galileo did. The list goes on and on.

Muslims are the Reason Why the World Became Modern. Had there be no Muslims, imagine how our lives would be today? Perhaps we would still be in the dark ages?

Imam Mahadi Sudah Lahir?

Baru-baru ni aku sekat dalam conversation pasal Imam Mahadi. Gementar pun ada jugak. Anyway, ni nak share some conversation piece on the matter:

Ada orang kata Imam Mahadi Melayu.... I have read somewhere .... Bani Ta Mim kononnya. Also read that he will be born when a river dries... somewhere in Turkey or Syria... somewhere there.... I cannot remember the name. Anyway, that particular river dried up in 1975 because of some dam construction I think. 

So if he has been born, he would be around the age of 40 by now if we follow the Islamic calendar; and it was said that he will only know that he is Imam Mahadi at the age when Nabi Muhammad got his first revelation. Which means..... he himself probably just found out or about to find out that he is that messiah sometime in 2016. 

You can see all other signals Qiamat happening - eg. Middle East is already in a World War 3 mode when USA, Russia as well as China have already sent troops, etc. Also, aeroplanes are falling down everywhere. The latest one was an Egyptian plane that crashed yesterday. Then we have the tsunamia and the earthquakes. 

We can also see the prophecy of a Habshi ruling Rome (a metaphore for an African ruling the Western power).... i.e. Obama in the USA. We can also see Bedouins building tall buildings and many more. So we are close. Wallaualam.

Malaysians Should Learn to Respect Time

RUDE MALAYSIANS was the title of this article initially. I felt that it was too rude, hence I had decided to change it. I have lived in many countries such as Australia, the United States of America territories, the United Kingdom as well as Egypt. I have also visited over a dozen other countries for which I have made conscious observations on the subject matter 'Respect for Time'. I sincerely feel that we Malaysians can learn by benchmarking to the behaviours of the people of those countries. Of course, they too have their ugly characters but let us just learn a few good manners instead of highlighting their negativities. We should, however, look at our negativities and endeavour to address them. Here are my thoughts on the subject 'Respect for Time':

Time is valuable. You cannot turn back time. In Economics, the notion of time itself means the opportunity lost of making money, if not used in an economic generating manner. Recently I have wasted hours of my time to travelling through traffic jams and sacrificed other important meetings just to make sure that I arrive on time to an appointment. Not to mention that that intended meeting had also eaten up my personal time after office hours. What was the outcome? A disappointing one. I waited, and waited. I got irritated after awhile. I sent a WhatsApp message, "Hi there. I have arrived for our meeting. Where are you?" The answer that I got was, "Oh no,.. I cannot make it. I have an emergency matter to attend to outside town". The counterparts that I had while working in those foreign countries would never have left me in the dark. They would call me to apologise.

So I wasted my time when I could have scheduled other important meetings or spend time with my family. I have also wasted the diesel in my vehicle and I have also wasted my driver's time. I find it incomprehensible that people fail to use tools such as diaries to remind them of appointments. There are tonnes of electronic applications nowadays to do just that. Perhaps it is not the lack of technology or the use of such technology? Perhaps it is simply an act of "non-courteousness" for lack of a better English word. But hang on,... there is a word.... Rude!

This is something that Malaysians do again and again unlike the people that I have dealt with in those foreign countries mentioned earlier. In London, even the train arrives the station within a margin of 1 minute. Those Caucasians, they will leave a meeting at exactly the end time allocated so that they do not miss the next appointment. Unresolved matters for a particular meeting (due to insufficient time) will need to be addressed at a later meeting to be scheduled in due course. We can learn from this behaviour.

I am not denying that we human beings cannot control certain emergencies. But we human beings can be courteous to inform our counterparts that plans have changed. I am frustrated with such irresponsible character (non-courteousness). Of course, I too am guilty at times. I have decided to start adopting a courteous attitude when it comes to respecting time. Respecting other people's time as well as my own time. And perhaps I should not give face to those who cannot respect my time so that they too will learn to respect time. So, I sent another message to that fellow, "Too bad then. I am not free for another month. Please call my secretary to set an appointment within office hours. This time it shall not be after hours. Have fun." Hopefully that will teach people some lesson. I may sound arrogant but hey, I am an Accountant - the Economic rule 'Time Value for Money' applies without hesitation on my part.

As mentioned earlier, I too am guilty. I have the habit of trying to finish a particular task that I am doing even though I have passed way beyond the allocated timeline. This is my disease,... Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Often people will have to wait for me for the next session. I have to remind myself to control this OCD and not make people wait. Another reason to be late for a meeting is logistic. We Malaysians are doomed with traffic jams, heavy monsoon rains, road accidents and similar sagas which often result in the infamous Malaysian 'Rubber Time', an expression to describe the stretching of an allocated time beyond the acceptable punctuality. This has to stop.

For a start, I have asked my secretary to always consider travelling time from one meeting to another. For this, my driver is to communicate effectively with my secretary on my diary planning to include logistical time management. To drive from Damansara (my office) to Serdang (for a business meeting) yesterday took us one whole freaking hour because of the traffic and the rain when in fact, normal days would only warrant half an hour. Without a time buffer in the diary, this delay can result in many unwanted outcome. A Japanese client might just take a taxi back to the airport and you could have lost the business deal.

There are many aspects of time respecting that we ought to observe. Malaysian are blessed with multicultural and ethnic groups. With that comes various religious habits that need respect over its sensitivities. For example, calling people during Friday prayers is a big no, no. Asking a staff to work on a Chinese New Year eve night is a big no, no, as well. Whatever it is, regardless of your religion, you must always understand your counterparts and make their lives easy. Respecting other religion is a whole separate topic that I can write an article about but suffice to just talk about time management for the time being.

We must not forget that we owe the duty to respect the time that our family expects of us. We must plan our day, our week and so forth to ensure that we balance between the time for work, for family, for friends, for our own hobbies as well as for ourselves. Make sure that we have the time to interact with our kids. Talk about their school. Have dinner with the wife. Go visit our parents. Sometimes we have to work late. That is fine. Work late but do not make it a habit. We have friends whom we used to hang out with when times were less hectic. Do not let that friendship fade away. Catch up with friends over drinks once in a while.

Many of us abandon our hobbies such as reading, jamming, painting and what have you. Why? Live your life to the fullest. Do what you want to do. Do those things that you miss doing. Do the things that you have always wanted to do. This realisation was what made me climb Mount Kinabalu to its zenith! Finally, you ought to give time to yourself too. Have enough sleep. Do the exercise you need. Eat at the right time. These are all simple but important aspects of respecting time.

After going through the thinking process of what respecting time means, I realised that time is a profound element of the universe. We all know that without time, the world could not have existed - well at least this is what I understand from Stephen Hawking's The Brief History of Time. No wonder the English has the saying "Mother Earth and Father Time". Time is divine. Time is ours but yet time is not ours. Time is just given to us to live our lives but time is taken away from us when we meet our death. Time is magical. Time is indeed God's greatest gift to humanity far more valuable than life itself. Without time, there is no life. For this, we must not forget that above all, we must respect time for God's sake. God deserves our attention and for that we have to allocate time for God. At least one major religion had God revealing his commandment to man over the importance of time and I quote this below:

"In the name of Time. Indeed man is in loss, except those who have faith and do righteous deeds, and enjoin one another to [follow] the truth, and enjoin one another to patience" - Surah Al-Asr (The Time) of the Holy Quran.

Is ISIS a True Islam? (A Non-Muslim Asking a Muslim)

NON MUSLIM:

Referring to the website- http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2015/03/what-isis-really-wants/384980/ , I am interested in your view as to whether it could be true that ISIS is true Islam and everybody else is following wrong teaching? Or do you think the US and Israelis made this up?

MUSLIM:

ISIS is not true Islam. Israel is known to have done anything they want. I do not trust them at all man. USA is just a puppet for Israel. Billions of USD tax payers money goes to Israel. That is enough to raise doubts.

NON MUSLIM:

US aid to Israel you are right except that it is trillions not billions. But what you probably don't know is that Egypt gets very close to the same amount. How can you be so sure of who is in your good books when you may not have all the facts?

MUSLIM:

I am not sure! That's the point! But I am not making definitive statements on Facebook or Twitter either!

Well I am making statements about the death of those innocent kids in Palestine, Syria, etc.

Yes. Nothing wrong with stating the fact that lots of innocents are dying. It's the conspiracy stuff that I keep finding amusing. How can you be so certain that what you are reposting on social media is true? Or do you not mind if you repost things that turn out to be false?

MUSLIM:

I read the article. Too long. Interesting but contains too many misconceptions that not only confuse Muslims but non Muslims too. Inaccurate conclusions on Muhammad, Quran and Islam as interpretations were cherry picked such as Islam allows slavery and concubines and such, instead of digested as a whole. I will tell you the whole story about the Great Lie of End of Times that specifically refers to ISIS and the 666.

NON MUSLIM:

Agree it is long. I have never read the whole Quran either, which is why I wanted your view. To be clear, ISS do believe that Islam and the Prophet allows slavery and concubines, etc. They have said so many times in their videos and speeches by leaders. So that part is not controversial. What was new to me is that a religious reading of the Quran supports this view. And according to them if you don't agree then you are khufir (non-believer) just like me.

MUSLIM:

I will tell you in what context certain things in Quran have been taken wrongly by this ISIS and why I think Israel and USA is involved. However, my explanation does not involve empirical evidence. It involves certain prophecies by Prophet Muhammad regarding ISIS. It is a matter of my spiritual believe.... that is why I am reluctant to have a conversation with you because you only accept empirical evidence based arguments whereas mine is based on my faith.

NON MUSLIM:

Okay. If it is belief then that's fine. No need to explain, you are right. Hard for me to understand those kind of answers but will accept them. This is not an inquisition. I am just trying to understand.

MUSLIM:

You want to understand whether ISIS is Islamic? Ok I will make it short and sweet. Referring to the article condemning Muslims at the link- http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2015/03/what-isis-really-wants/384980/ , Firstly, did the Quran say "Kill Non Muslims" and take infidels as slaves and concubines? Quran made references to prisoners of war becoming slaves and concubines. That was the "tradition" globally that time. Over the 22 years of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) perfecting Islam via revelations from Allah, the Almighty God, he has progressively released slaves and abolished slavery and the practice of keeping concubines. This was not appreciated by many Islamophobias who also often cherry picked phrases in Quran making it halal to kill non Muslims in the wrong context. If the Quran is read in totality, it condemns killing others, Muslims or Non Muslims. In fact, it promotes prisoners of war to do beneficial stuff like teaching Muslim kids about science, maths, etc. Yes Quran says kill those who intrudes Islam as a means of defence. The ISIS and Al-Qaeda got it all wrong. I honestly believe the Islam that ISIS embrace is a false one. This misconception by ISIS has been amplified by the End of Days prophecy, which is my second point. End of Days basically have a few components that strongly influences the Muslims to believe in the prophecy. The components are: [i. 666 or Dajjal will cause chaos to Earth. ii. The Messiah Imam Mahadi will lead the Muslims to fight Dajjal. iii. Jesus Christ will come down from the Heavens to lead the Muslims working with Imam Mahadi.] The ISIS believes that we are now in the era of End of Days. Armageddon is coming. Therefore they conclude that the superpowers that are controlling new world order has to be Dajjal. Hence USA and Israel marked. Many signs match what is happening such as the geographical area of war, names of cities as well as specific events. When small prophecies come true, it is easy to conclude the ultimate prophecy. Personally I do not know whether I should conclude whether USA and Israel are not Dajjal. They are indeed super powers that are trying to control Middle East, i.e. the Muslims. This warrants discussion in my third point, "Why is ISIS using Islam as the reference if they are not Islamic?" The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) also prophesised that during the End of Days there will be a false caliphate that uses Islam as a weapon to cause chaos and that the caliph will go by the name that refers to geographical locations and will be using a black flag. This caliph and his army will work to benefit the Dajjal whether or not he realises it or whether or not orchestrated by Dajjal. This is a prophecy well known to many Muslims particularly Ahli Sunnah Wal-Jamaah (Sunni). I am a Sunni. I have studied enough to conclude spiritually and empirically that the prophecy of false caliph has manifested it self..... the ISIS! They carry Black flag with Allah on it. They use names of places as Surname, like Al- Baghdadi, and they cause chaos that contravenes all Islamic teachings, be it misinterpretation of the Quran or simply barbaric activities as what you see on TV now. They may or may not do it on purpose but based on my points above, looks like it is happening, i.e. not embracing Quran in its divine purpose thoroughly but rather in cherry picked destructive ways. Finally why would Muslims believe that USA and Israel is the Dajjal? In accordance to the prophecy by Prophet Muhammad as well as some phrases in the Quran,  Dajjal works in many ways. He has the false prophet or false caliph as mentioned earlier. He also has his own army called Yakjuj Makjuj or better known as Gog and Magog in the Bible. The prophecy also says that Yahudi will assist Dajjal. Now USA and Israel may fall under any of those categories, i.e. false prophet, or Yakjuj Makjuj or Yahudi, or even Dajjal himself. I do not know. But all of those are simply referred to as the Dajjal, the negative force. When you see USA and Israel army drop bombs onto Iraq, Syria, Palestine and interfere with the Governments of Egypt, Iran, Afghanistan, Indonesia and many more Muslim countries, it is quite easy to relate back to the prophecy. If there is a believe that USA and Israel is the Dajjal, or one of his arms, it is easy to conclude that ISIS is that false caliph working with Dajjal. What more with many whistleblowing of ISIS not doing Islamic acts like killings, etc, and the fact that not once have ISIS attacked Israel. Mind you, ISIS is also killing many Muslims especially Shiites in the name of Sunni. Very twisted. I mentioned Yahudi. The name Yahudi is commonly used by Arabs when referring to Israelies. Not accurate actually. Yahudi should be referred to when addressing Zionists. Zionists are the ones controlling what Israel and USA do. They control the majority of the congressmen in USA. You can see now how a Muslim such as me, who are against killings, etc, coupled by prophecies by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) on the false caliph, tend to conclude that ISIS is unIslamic and an extension of the Dajjal, whose description best befitting the super powers such as USA, Israel any other military powers that has been attacking Middle East since the longest time? The Dajjal is prophesised to have the cunningness to control the world and people's mind and the Muslims were warned by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) that the Dajjal will lie the biggest lie to humanity. Cunningness and lie means deception. Humanity may think that Dajjal is working for goodness of life but he has hidden agendas. That biggest lie was explained by the Prophet to be the lie on Muslims. For example, the war on Iraq for having weapons of mass destruction that was subsequently concluded as false. UN allowing Israel to destroy and occupy land of Palestine that does not belong to the Israelites. I can write a separate long article about the Palestinian invasion but not here. My point is, these are my religious believes via the Prophet's prophecies. You can now understand why I find it facinating to know about Freemasons, the New World Order and such. If you had studied all this from history, you can see how the New World Order has moved from the UK in the 40's, then to USA now and finally, yet to happen, as prophesised by the Prophet, to Greater Israel, an empire that is in production now. So, if you ask me why I conclude that USA and Israel.... as well as ISIS, cannot be trusted, I can only give you my religious believe as detailed above rather than empirical or scientific reasons that non Muslims prefer. In the end, my message is clear. I believe that Islam is a religion of peace and that the claim that killings or any other negativity done is in the name of Islam is total and utter nonsense. ISIS have wrongfully use Islam as a reason. I also believe Israel, or Zionist, is the biggest terrorists ever in the history of mankind. The USA is unfortunately marked as a terrorist as well given their support for Israel. That is what I feel. The Queries from the Confusion of the Palestinian-Israeli Chaos

Quran does not ask people to kill. When oppressed, still Muslims should not be killing and they must do whatever necessary instead of killing. However, if the enemy starts killing your people and family or if they (enemies) are attacking your people and family, to not defend would mean you are a coward. In Islam, being such coward is one of the 7 deadly sins.

ALESTINE is in a state of mess. As the Israel Defence Force ("IDF") move forward to invade 2km beyond the borders of the Gaza strip, many parties have expressed concerns over Israelis disproportionate attack on Gaza that destroyed most of the civilisation in Gaza. Whilst many Governments, leaders, organisations and general public show support for Palestine, there are some people on this planet who question the Palestinian, particularly Hamas, and generally Muslims or Islam, on some aspects of the whole war. They are either confused, or misinformed or simply refuse to accept the truth.

 

The supporters of Palestine have the obligation to remedy this so that those who fail to comprehend the issues can appreciate where the truth is. If we (supporters of Palestine) have discharged our duties of adequately informing and educating those confused people, and they are still in confusion, then we hope God have mercy to shine the light of truth onto them (Tawakkal). So, what are the queries from the confusion (or the confused) of the Palestinian-Israeli chaos? Here they are with the necessary rebuttal:

Question 1:

 

Is Hamas' priority not right economically where monies should have been used to build schools, hospitals, develop the nation and many more like what Israel did instead of building tunnels?

 

Answer 1:

 

Well, I think they do build their nation but a huge chunk of the money is needed for defence inclusive of underground tunnels in Gaza, if not, there will be no nation to justify building of schools, hospitals etc. We must remember that Israel could do it because it is not being occupied and the danger is at the border whereas Palestine is being invaded. The composition of how a nation's wealth is being appropriated is a function of its state of affairs.

 

Just like Malaysia, we had to spend huge amount of money for military against communists and rural development during Tun Razak's time. When Tun Mahathir took over from Tun Hussein, he allocated more to modernisation. That does not mean that he ignored rural development. The composition is dynamic. For Palestine, let's focus in obtaining the sovereignity of the nation, which is what Hamas is focusing on. This is Sociology 101. I fail to understand the analysis by those who make noise about Hamas misuse money to build tunnels.

Why do Hamas in their Charter, Palestinians and Muslims in general, kill the Jews unjustifiably in the name of religion as warranted by the Quran?

Answer 2:

 

Quran does not ask people to kill. When oppressed, still Muslims should not be killing and they must do whatever necessary instead of killing. However, if the enemy starts killing your people and family or if they (enemies) are attacking your people and family, to not defend would mean you are a coward. In Islam, being such coward is one of the 7 deadly sins. You must be a defender when faced with such threat. And in that capacity, you are bound to kill people,  people who are attacking you and who are oppressing you. Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) led armies to war many times with plenty of killings. Had he not do that, the enemies would have slaughtered him, his army, his family and many Muslims. The enemies, the Arab Jahilliah lot, is known to have no remorse as they kill their own daughters for no reason.

 

Don't be confused. NEVER, I repeat, NEVER claim that Quran asks to kill. To conclude simplistically as such is irresponsible. Some parties made reference to Hamas' Charter that urges killing of Jews. I asked for the paragraphs of the Charter and I have read it. It made references to Quran on Jihad. I think many people conclude Jihad too simplistically. It is not "killing". It is "you can kill those who oppress you, your family, your country or your religion." Pretty much like our army protecting our country and in doing so, kill the enemies. In the case of Hamas, I don't have to explain what their Jihad relates to. Any 3rd grader can guess. By the way, references to Jews on this debate is inaccurate. The oppressors should be labelled as Zionists.

Question 3:

 

Why do Muslim supporters cherry pick their shout  whereby they only make noise when Israel attacks Palestine but they don't shout when ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) kills thousands of Christians? 

Answer 3:

Well, I am a Palestinian supporter and I am also a supporter of the Christians who were killed and are oppressed by ISIS. Both IDF and ISIS should be charged as murderers. Don't be confused. ISIS does not equate to Islam and neither is Zionism equate to Judaism. Whilst I do not have evidence to say what I want to say next, I must say that there are already doubts on the origins of ISIS. Many believe that they are not (or at least the leader) true Muslims and that they are planted by the Zionists simply to create chaos in the Middle East - very much like the fictional book The Mahdi by A.J. Quinnell - having involved intelligence such as CIA and Mossad. In any case, with or without such conspiracy theory, what ISIS is doing is wrong. Muslims should not support such movement (ISIS). They are not carrying Jihad in its true spirit.

Question 4:

Why do Muslims believe on conspiracy theories that Jewish people wants to control the world without any basis?

Answer 4:

Many believe that there is a Zionism conspiracy (not Jewish) to control the world to their advantage particularly via Politics/Governments, Communication/Media, Banking/Finance and Military/Terrorism. There are many publications advocating this such as the International Jew by Henry Ford and the so called "secret document" of Zionism called The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion. These have been dismissed by many others as hoax because of their lack of evidence or proof of misrepresentation. I cannot help to notice that even without those publications, there are enough to observe by a Jo Bloke like me and many others to suggest that there is a fairly strong chance that such conspiracy exist.

 

With that hypothesis, instead of questioning "proof that there is a conspiracy", I'd rather say, "proof that there isn't one." Of course many Media viewed as Zionism also report news from the Palestinian perspective and state the negativities of Israel but pale in comparison to that of opposite perspective. This is the same as Obama saying, "Israel should stop killing" but gets millions of export money from selling weapons to Israel. A typical behaviour of a hypocrite - in Malay we call this "Talam Dua Muka" - they appear to be balanced strategically with a focused intention to support a particular party as predetermined.

A lay man does not need to think far to see how the USA (and the UK) has toppled and destroyed many Governments in the Middle East and have put their puppet Governments in place. For those that they have not done so (yet), they have engaged in numerous military campaigns and economic sanctions. The world financial crisis and dominance boil down to a few big players who unethically drive the financial market. They even colonialised the Third World countries economically via their Economic Hitman Techniques via International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and many other mechanisms. All these media houses, financial institutions and Member of Parliaments or Congressmen are known to be controlled by the Zionists. There are plenty of information on this floating in the open market.

It is ok to have doubts over some publications but you cannot dismiss something as hoax based on someone else's claims without you reading the material first. read them first, then conclude whether you want to believe those claims (materials being hoax). I recommend you to read the International Jew by Henry Ford and the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion (available at www.bookdepository.com or www.abebooks.com) - you will see that there is a compelling urge to notice the consistency of what is happening out there with what have been laid out in those publications - Go figure!

My answers to the queries may not be comprehensive but I want to believe that it should be adequate to start the ball rolling. I hope these confused people will open their eyes to see the empirical evidence out there that will be consistent with what we are discussing here. I would love to dig out information from history and publications to support my arguments but that can be done by the confused themselves if they have the heart to comprehend the matter sincerely. They can also choose to read my previous blog post where I have made references to the Old Testament, the Quran, historical chronological order of events and disturbing information about oil and gas driven actions in the region. Today the Israel-Gaza war reached its 25th day. What does it really mean in terms of inhumanity? Well, Palestinian officials say 1,653 Gazans, mostly civilians, have been killed . . .

AZA is in a "gazazster state" that anyone with a heart would weep. Humanity, or shall I say, inhumanity, is at its worst since Hitler swiped the Jews off Europe. Today the Israel-Gaza war reached its 25th day. What does it really mean in terms of inhumanity? Well, Palestinian officials say 1,653 Gazans, mostly civilians, have been killed. Sixty-three Israeli soldiers have been killed, and Palestinian shelling has killed three civilians in Israel. What is the underlying causes of such madness? We cannot comprehend. For Muslims, many would naturally support the Gazans and for non-Muslims, they rely on the media to digest facts before they decide who to support. Some (mostly non-Muslims) won't even take sides as they are unclear of the facts that are contradictory between Islamist backed media or the conventional mainstream media. Many arguments have been put forth by both sides but one cannot help to notice that the simplistic apparent fact is, Israelis are killing women, worse case, children and worst case, shelling the United Nations' centres, hospitals and mosques. So what is this war all about? Is it about religion? Is it about land? Is it about history? or; Is it about economy?

The role of religion in the Palestinian conflict

If one were to study the Jewish texts, one cannot avoid noticing that the Lord promises the 'Land' for His chosen people, the children of Israel. With this believe, the Jewish community strongly holds dear the land they call Israel and the occupied Palestine. Historically Jews have gone through quite a normadic odyssey throughout history. They have been in the Mesopotamian areas during the Prophet Isaac (Nabi Ishak a.s.) days, Eqypt during Prophet Moses (Nabi Musa a.s.) and Prophet Aaron (Nabi Harun a.s.) days; and the current Israel-Palestine areas during King Solomon (Nabi Sulaiman a.s.), King David (Nabi Daud a.s.) and Jesus (Nabi Isa a.s.) days. They have somehow been dispersed for hundreds of years everywhere across Europe and the Middle East under the Islamic empires of Muawiyah, Abassiyah and Ottoman; the Christian empire of Byzantine as well as the modern civilisations pre-World War 2. Subsequently they also migrated to the new world of Americas.

Now, religion plays an important role to motivate these dispersed Jews to unite and occupy the so called 'Promised Land'. Surely you cannot discount religion after digesting all this? The question is, why the Palestinian land? History shows that the strongest Jewish empire ever established in marking a particular land as its sovereign foothold is during King Solomon's reign. Solomon built the Jewish temple of which, the remaining is believed to be the wailing wall of Jericho we see today. Perhaps this is the reference the Israelis planted in their believes to justify the right to the land? What more with God's revelation to them (Jews) in the Old Testament as follows:

Exodus 23:31-32: "I will establish your borders from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, and from the desert to the Euphrates River. I will give into your hands the people who live in the land, and you will drive them out before you. Do not make covenant with them or with their gods."

One would argue that similar phrases appear in the Quran that give justifications to similar religious-led actions from the Muslim's side. Let us see how the Quran has warranted such actions - below:

Quran 5:51: "O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you, then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people."

Now, notice the difference between the two phrases from Exodus and the Quran respectively? The Exodus says, "drive them (people of the said land) out before you..." whereas the Quran says, "... do not take as allies... " Clearly those two phrases have different mandates to it. The former (Exodus) gives authority to oppress whereas the latter (Quran) simply warns not to trust the Jews (Zionists), the Christians (majority of Europe and the Americans) as well as those 'among you' (the Arab nations surrounding Palestine). At this point we should differentiate between Jews, Israel and Zionism. The state is Israel and the population consists of mostly ethnic Jews. Some Jews are Zionists and some not. Zionism is an ideology that reinforces the idea of 'Promised Land' via politics and apparently, now via military campaigns. For clarity, we should reduce the war reference to the Zionists.

The Quran refers to the 'Yahudi' (the Jews) as there were no words to describe Zionism or the State of Israel those days. The Quran must be read with intelligence whereby if there are Jews who oppose Zionism, they are therefore not to be within that definition of 'Yahudi'. Similarly, the Quran refers to the 'Nasrani' (the Christians) and should there be Christians who are friends with Muslims, they are not to be taken as the 'Nasrani' that was referred to earlier. Can the same be said (exclusivity of exempted cases)  about the reference to the Palestinians in the Old Testament? Well, yes! in fact the Quran (instead of the Old Testament) did mention "whoever is an ally to them among you" to exempt the Palestinians or the Arabs who are supporting the Israel from being trusted by the Muslims - a positive factor in the eyes of the Israelis.

Why did I choose those specific phrases from Exodus and Quran? Well, simply to rebut a blog post that uses those phrases - Huffpost blog post entitled "7 Things to Consider Before Choosing Sides in the Middle East Conflict." The blog also mentioned that Muslims are guided by a hadith that warrants Muslims to kill Jews behind Gharqad trees. This cannot be taken out of context. It did not say kill Jews. It says kill Jews behind Gharqad trees. What this really means is that the Muslims are allowed to kill Jews who are oppressing you, that is, who are approaching to invade your (Palestinians) land. The Quran predicted the situation whereby the oppressor would be hiding behind the Gharqad trees. We have news that Netanyahu's armies have planted such trees at the border of Gaza as a strategy to minimise Palestinians movement with the aim of expanding the land further. Surely this does not involve the Jews who are innocent. It should be acknowledged that the Quran only warrants killing when justified by oppression whereas the reference to the Old Testament seem to lack such parameter, at least in the one referred to by the Huffpost blog.

Secular arguments fuelling the Palestinian conflict

We have established earlier that religion has its role in the conflict. But many keep on saying that this is not about religion and claim that this is about land, economy and politics. Well, I cannot disagree. Whilst religion is at the heart of the conflict, we cannot rule out secular arguments as religion references did mention 'Land' (Occupied Palestine).  That in itself is a mega link. How else would you 'acquire' the Land if not by economic, political or military means? Similarly, why else would you want to 'acquire' the Land if not because of economic, political and military benefits and advantages? Israel uses the Governments of the United States of America, the United Kingdom, the Arab nations and many more as a political tool to establish its significance in a Muslim dominated region. Palestinians may have used politics but to re-establish the land they used to live on. See the difference?

Israel blocks supplies into Palestine and controls the movement on the infrastructure within Palestine. This dampens the economic growth of the Palestinians. Without supplies and proper infrastructure, Palestine will be (has already been) crippled. No schools. No transportation. No supplies. No resources. All of which, are recipe for a deteriorating economy. Not to mention the Palestinian's inability (because of the earlier said constraints) to harvest the huge gas reserves of the shores of Gaza - that can be a wealthy source of economic substance to Israel if they grab hold of Gaza - catch my drift?!. Finally, military enforcement is the best way of strengthening the military presence in the region. Surrounded by Arab nations, Israel will require a more prominent strategic military positions securing Red Sea linkage to the Mediterranean Sea, the European gateway to the East as well as the abolishment of the closest opponent military force (Hamas). All these factors make it easy for us to understand why Israel should want to occupy Palestine (although inhumane).

Let's drill further into the economic side of all this. Referring to an article on 10 July 2014 at www.globalresearch.ca  entitled "War and Natural Gas: The Israeli Invasion and Gaza’s Offshore Gas Fields", the following extract puts the earlier point on economy into perspective:

Five years ago, Israel invaded Gaza under “Operation Cast Lead”. An article was published by Global Research in January 2009 at the height of the Israeli bombing and invasion under Operation Cast Lead. In the wake of the invasion, Palestinian gas fields were de facto confiscated by Israel in derogation of international law. A year following “Operation Cast Lead”,  Tel Aviv announced the discovery of  the Leviathan natural gas field in the Eastern Mediterranean “off the coast of Israel.” At the time the gas field was: “ … the most prominent field ever found in the sub-explored area of the Levantine Basin, which covers about 83,000 square kilometres of the eastern Mediterranean region.” Coupled with Tamar field, in the same location, discovered in 2009, the prospects are for an energy bonanza for Israel, for Houston, Texas based Noble Energy and partners Delek Drilling, Avner Oil Exploration and Ratio Oil Exploration. (See Felicity Arbuthnot, Israel: Gas, Oil and Trouble in the Levant, Global Research, December 30, 2013). The Gazan gas fields are part of the broader Levant assessment area. What is now unfolding is the integration of these adjoining gas fields including those belonging to Palestine into the orbit of Israel. (see map above). It should be noted that the entire Eastern Mediterranean coastline extending from Egypt’s Sinai to Syria constitutes an area encompassing large gas as well as oil reserves. 

My first reaction to the above finding was (still is), "Wow!!!!!" This is a mega deal man. Multi-billion dollar deal. This reminds me of some comments made by my friends suggesting that if Israel wanted to kill all Palestinians, they would have done so long time ago. They claim that this is not about Zionists wanting to kill Muslims for ethnic cleansing or religion for that matter. Well, let's just, hypothetically, accept that argument. Let's say that yes, Zionists are not after the Muslims in Palestine.... Errrr... Duhhh.. of course! They are after the damn gas reserves right? I think I agree with the claim now because I found the above article on 'gas reserves' as a reason to explain why Israel did what they did (and what they will do further) - expansion for gas reserves control and not because of religion - how convenient, as they already have the holy land (Jerusalem).

 

Accusations made on Hamas and how history shapes the current complexity

Hamas has been accused of drawing first blood and using civilians as human shields. Hamas was also accused of launching rockets from densely populated areas including hospitals and schools.  This is said to cause very little damage on the Israeli's side but great damage on the Gaza side. Hamas was also blamed for not accepting Israel's decision to pull out soldiers and settlers in 2005 as well as opening border crossings to facilitate commerce. Israel even gave 3,000 greenhouses to produce fruits and flowers for the economy. Hamas was also accused of not choosing to invest in schools, trade or infrastructure. Worse still, Hamas invested in underground tunnels to facilitate military campaign against Israel. Hamas also did not build bomb shelters for the Palestinians and as a result, Palestinians face the bombs being dropped on their roofs. In a nutshell, Hamas is accused of disordering priorities and could have sought help from neighbouring rich Arab nations.

In order to understand the complexities of the Palestinian people supporting Hamas to the extent that they allow themselves to be faced with sufferings, we ought to understand the history. In 1948 the British Government 'awarded' the land they call Israel now to the Jewish people that was led by Zionists. Since then, there have been many conflicts including the infamous 7-day war involving Egypt on the Palestinian's side. This is clearly the response to the giving away of land that belonged to the Palestinians. In a way, the oppression was started by the British and its allies. Understandably, the British Government (and the United States of America (USA)) had already been infested by Zionists. The 5 million Palestinians have always fought against Israel. They may be stupid fools throwing stones at a bunch of Israeli soldiers shooting machineguns but they were reacting to the oppression. With or without Hamas, what you see (assisting military force for Palestine) would have happened anyways. Hamas only came into existence in 1987, which is 39 years after the creation of the State of Israel in 1948.

Still scanning through history, one must remember that the oppression was not only from Israeli's side. it was also at the United Nations  (UN) level where Palestine could not be granted full member status by the UN as the USA (ally of Israel) threatened to veto against it at the Securities Council in 2011. In the end, they only got a Non Member State Observer status only. How do you respond to that? Any nation would continue to fight (even if it means sacrificing lives). Mind you, the USA funds USD3 billion a year of its tax payers monies to Israel particularly to support military campaigns against Palestine. Today, the USA is trying to show that they care and that they want to champion a peace treaty between the Palestinians and the Israelis. One cannot ignore how superficial this looks like. They (US) seem to portray characteristics of a hypocrite and what is worse (or worst) is that, the entire world seems to be blinded by them (or choose to remain silent). With all this painful history and the continuous blockade of the Palestinians, one can only ignore logic and start 'feeling' the unhealthy psychological development of the people of Palestine. No wonder they are willing to work together with Hamas and ended up having their kids and wives blown up into pieces. 

 

Israel kept on using Hamas' rockets as a reason to do a full military attack on civilians. In a way, the civilians themselves have evolved into military agents of sorts. I have read many non-conventional media to uncover that the accusations on Hamas are not all necessarily correct. Many times in the past Hamas respected peace agreements but started firing rockets again because Israel drew first blood - an example would be Israel's massive crackdown on Hamas in the West Bank during a ceasefire agreement. Conventional media may have reported differently but how do you conclude when 2 separate groups of media report contradictory findings? Of course the more pervasive one would be the conventional media that is controlled by the Zionists (An idea promoted by Henry Ford in his thesis, the International Jew, to prove the authenticity of the Zionist's secret blue print to control the world, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion). To demonstrate a point, Hamas even sent some of its Palestinian members to jail for disobeying peace treaties. The recent war was said to have been erupted when Hamas kidnapped 3 Israeli teenagers. Before any validity, Netanyahu sent his military force to bulldoze Gaza only to later confirm that Hamas was not involved. How crucial was that validity? Clearly this shows that any reason, whether justified or not, serves as justification to war anyway. Even if Hamas was behind it, the conventional media did not emphasise that 10 days earlier (from the kidnapping) a 10 year old Palestinian kid was killed in an airstrike by the Israelis. So who drew first blood? The simple fact is that Israel has all the intentions to demolish Hamas following the potential threat it can be if Hamas were to combine forces with its brothers in the West Bank forming a United Palestinian Leadership (which was progressing anyway).

In the past Israelis offered a retreat of its soldiers and open borders. This meant nothing. For the Palestinians it is as if they were asked to accept slavery. The offer was on the back of Israelis still controlling the borders, the roads, the supplies, the land and everything else under the sun. It is like saying, "O.K. we will stop bombing you and let you live your lives but as our slaves." Who in their right mind accepts that especially when their families have died previously defending the very right to freedom? 3,000 greenhouses to produce fruits and flowers for the economy means nothing if the economy is still controlled by the Israelis. As I mentioned earlier, logic (IQ) does not work. Psychological comprehension (EQ) is what fuels the Palestinians. You must put your self in their shoes. Feel them. 66 years of oppression surely is more than enough to psychologically turn the people of Palestine into fighters - fighter for their own freedom - fighter to protect the remaining 22% of their land not yet occupied by the Israelis (for which Israelis are subtly expanding into by way of illegal settlements) - fighters mistakenly labelled as terrorists. 

Before I forget about the question on 'help from neighbouring rich Arab nations', I think it is pretty clear that the neighbouring Arab countries did very little to assist their Palestinian brothers. Firstly, Egypt had blocked the South border of Gaza that traps Gazans in an open air prison while Israelis are attacking from the North and the West - One can only wonder whether this is an intentional colluding act. Saudi King superficially expressed concerns after 25 days of Gaza being destroyed. Never did he offer any help earlier (unlike the late King Faisal who was murdered for championing the Palestinian course). Countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arabs Emirates, Bahrain and many more are practically under the grips of the USA Government that is controlled by the Zionists. This is the result of many years of subtle political colonisation in the name of oil. Meanwhile, USA had also paralysed countries like Iraq, Egypt and Libya via military campaigns and toppling of Governments of those countries. Meanwhile, Syria and Iran are busy dealing with almost 180,000 killings of Muslims in their countries by the ISIS militant group rumoured to have been organised by the Western super powers' intelligence agencies inclusive of CIA and Mossad.

So what now?

So what? Well, we need a remedy. A remedy that is biased towards the oppressor is not a remedy. Some may argue that we should not look back at history because history is full of vendettas and vendettas will never end the conflict. Some also say that there are 3 generations of Israelis who were born in Israel which gives them the right to claim the land. Some also say that you really don't have to choose between being "pro-Israel" or "pro-Palestine" - i.e. support secularism, democracy and a two-state solution - at the same time oppose Hamas, oppose settlement expansion/occupation and don't pick a side. Some also say that there is no use posting images of the dead Palestinians on Facebook as it will not make any difference and disrespectful to the demised family members.

In my humble opinion, the 22% should be left alone and Israelis should retreat back into the Israel that was given to them in 1948. Even if we are to ignore history, moving forward, Israelis must not be allowed to occupy more land than what they have stolen. Giving excuses to expand land in order to distant settlements away from the firing distance of Hamas rockets is no longer acceptable as Israel has proven themselves not trustworthy when they kept on putting in settlement right till the edge of the border whenever they expand their invasion in the name of Hamas' rockets. If West Bank and Gaza wants to combine into a united front, so be it as it is their freedom to choose.

As for the Facebook postings, no matter how ugly and painful those images can be, I believe it must be made public. Awareness must be shouted. This needs to be exposed. If previously it was said that Zionists control media, the age of social media now works against that. Why? Because now everybody can publish. Of course Facebook is owned by a Jew but so far, I have seen numerous postings against Zionists on Facebook. It is either Facebook is not Zionist or they just cannot stop an inertia so strong and pervasive evidenced by the numerous rallies across the globe involving both Muslims and Non-Muslims (inclusive of Non-Zionist Jews) supporting Gaza. The voice of the people is strong.

 

Some Governments had to take action in response to their people's pressure even if the action is a mere declaration. Ireland has blocked supplies of goods from Israel. Argentinian President has revoked any Argentinian passports given to holders of Israeli passports. Germany's Deutschbank has blacklisted Israeli banks who finance the properties of Israeli settlements on occupied Palestine. Many countries have asked Israeli embassies to be closed. People around the world are boycotting Israeli products or products of companies that heavily give financial assistance to Zionism. In the end, it is more compelling for you to take the Palestinian's side because to remain silence (or worse, to support Israel) is simply incomprehensible in light of the arguments put forth earlier.

Melayu Layu atau Melayu Maju?

Mana Melayu nak pergi? Nak lari pergi Singapura? Tak payah. Melayu macam habuk di sana. Nak pergi Brunei? Orang Brunei pun tak ingin. Mereka tak mahu berkongsi kekayaan dengan 20 juta Melayu dari Semenanjung. Nak pergi Indonesia? Hmmm,.. orang Indonesia datang sini adalah.

ELAYU bukan sahaja nama satu bangsa. Melayu juga boleh dikategorikan sebagai satu sifat. Mungkin Melayu akan marah apabila sifat-sifat tersebut diketengahkan sebagai unsur-unsur negatif. Salah siapa kalau ianya begitu? Aku pun Melayu. Tapi kenapa aku pun boleh berasa begitu negatif tentang Melayu? Mungkin Melayu itu sendiri silap tatacaranya apabila berdepan dengan dunia. Tersilap strategi apabila berdebat dengan yang bukan Melayu. Terlupa diri bila sudah gah berkuasa. Tersepit diri apabila terjunam jatuh kerana bodoh sombong? Wallahualam. Jadi macam mana? Kita kekal di Malaysia ni. Maka kenalah kita perbaiki apa Melayu itu mewakili. Pada firasat akulah, antara unsur-unsur yang perlu diperbaiki adalah 10 perkara berikut:

MALAS itu satu sikap yang amat ketara dalam golongan Melayu. Walaupun salah kalau kita stereotaipkan sifat Malas ini dengan Melayu, sudah terlampau banyak contoh-contoh yang Melayu itu senang malas apabila dibandingkan dengan bangsa bukan Melayu, khususnya bangsa Cina. Ini memang pemerhatian aku sendiri. Aku pernah bekerja di firma perakaunan. Aku pernah bekerja di syarikat yang tersenarai di bursa saham. Aku pernah bekerja di agensi kerajaan dan aku juga pernah bekerja di luar negara. Dalam kesemua-semua pekerjaan tersebut, bangsa Cina menunjukkan kerajinan yang tak sanggup aku sendiri ikut. Ini memang perkara benar. Apabila Cina melihat jarum jamnya pukul 6 petang, dia sedang mengira berapa jam lagi dia ada untuk menghabiskan kerja sebelum dia penat mengantuk. kalau Melayu, ewahhhh!!!!! time untuk punch card. Lihat sahaja berapa banyak anak-anak Melayu yang menghampakan bangsa apabila balik dari luar negara tanpa ijazah kerana gagal. Wang rakyat yang diamanahkan sebagai biasiswa hilang begitu sahaja. Mana pergi amanah Melayu-Melayu tersebut? Perlu aku ingatkan, aku bukan stereotaip ya. Ada Melayu yang bagus. Jangan salah anggap.

KETERAMPILAN adalah satu sifat yang sangat efektif dari segi sikologinya. Kadang-kadang seseorang itu tidak perlu bagus pun dalam pekerjaannya. Kalau pandai putar bergaya, dapatlah pujian. Dapatlah bonus bila Boss suka pandang. Dapatlah apa pun yang dikejar. Hipokrit. Ya mungkin, tapi bila bukan Melayu berketerampilan, Melayu dengki. Cubalah kalau kita belajar keterampilan diri yang menarik hati. Kalau nak simpan janggut dan misai tu, kasi trimlah sikit. Janganlah berpakaian selekeh. Bukannya kena beli pakaian mahal. Cuma kena nampak smart sahaja. Bila ke majlis separuh rasmi, janganlah mengambil kesempatan memakai tshirt leher bulat terus. Usahalah pakai tshirt berkolar ke? Cubalah berkumur listerine ke? Kasi tutup luka-luka di gusi supaya mulut tak berbau. Bila dah tua besar macam gajah, ketiak tu busuk kalau berpeluh. Kalau risaulah sangat deodarant ada alkohol, carilah yang halal. Banyak produk halal kat negara ni. Kita bukannya Singapura. Perlu aku ingatkan, aku bukan stereotaip ya. Ada Melayu yang bagus. Jangan salah anggap.

 

TUTURBAHASA dewasa ini pun makin terlampau kekurang-ajaran intonasinya. Tak kiralah Melayu ataupun bukan Melayu. Kalau boleh yang Melayu tu usahlah kita emosi banyak sangat. Kenapa nak maki hamun sana-sini. Apabila aku belajar dan bekerja di luar negara selama 9 tahun memang banyak aku perhatikan bangsa asing yang mulut tak berinsuran (kebanyakkannya Orang Putih). Asyik dok F@#K sana F@#K sini. Dia ingat dia ranggi. Tapi dia rugi. Sebab apa? Sebab orang pandang rendah. Apabila aku balik ke tanahair sudah banyak bezanya orang Melayu kita. Kalau yang reti Bahasa Inggeris memang kerja nak maki F@#K sahaja sana-sini. Yang tak reti Bahasa Inggeris tidak kurang hebatnya dengan P@#I, B#$%H dan banyak lagi perkataan-perkataan yang kurang selesa didengar. Kalau kita nak orang dengar pendapat kita, lebih-lebih lagi nak berdakwah, adakah ini caranya? Mungkin tidak (Seharusnya Tidak!). Perlu aku ingatkan, aku bukan stereotaip ya. Ada Melayu yang bagus. Jangan salah anggap.

KEYAKINAN diri merupakan faktor kedua terpenting selepas ilmu. Melayu banyak yang pandai-pandai tetapi apabila diajak berunding atau berbicara, terus malu tersipu-sipu. Kononnya sifat Melayu pemalu. Mana kau belajar? Melayu tak tersipu-sipu malu. Melayu berani. Bukalah mulut. Keluarkan suara. Ujarkan pendapat. Pernah aku menemuduga pelajar-pelajar Melayu tahun akhir di universiti-universiti di England. Keputusan peperiksaan semua hebat-hebat belaka. Kalau tak kelas pertama, kelas kedua atas pun memang amat membanggakan. Tetapi,.... alangkah sedihnya apabila ditemuduga, sepatah haram pun tak boleh keluar dari mulut. Macam mana boleh dapat kelas satu keputusan peperiksaan? Apa mungkin pelajar-pelajar ini semua lemah Bahasa Inggerisnya? Pernah juga saya menemuduga pelajar Malaysia berbangsa Cina. Walaupun Bahasa Inggerisnya hancur lingkup selingkup-lingkupnya (mungkin terlampau khusyuk di Sekolah Cina), beliau masih cuba menjawab soalan-soalan aku dengan sedaya-upayanya. Broken Englishnya tidak menjadi penghalang untuk dia berusaha. Aku rasa, ini mesti disebabkan keyakinan diri seseorang itu. Kena ada keyakinan diri. Perlu aku ingatkan, aku bukan stereotaip ya. Ada Melayu yang bagus. Jangan salah anggap.

GLOBALISASIKAN Melayu. Jangan kita tersekat di bawah tempurung. Hanya dengan mewujudkan slogan-slogan maju jaya tidak cukup. Itu umpama menebuk tingkap di dinding tempurung sahaja. Katak perlu lompat. Lompatlah katak. Apa lagi tunggu? Macam mana agaknya kita perlu mengglobalisasikan Melayu itu? Apa yang mungkin tersiar di benak jiwa semua orang ialah teknologi, pemodenan, penguasaan ilmu, kemahiran industri dan pelbagai lagi kata-kata kunci pembangunan manusia. Semua ini hanya akan berjalan lancar jika maklumat dapat diserap dan diagihkan dengan efektifnya. Macam mana nak peroleh ilmu bila bahasa yang ilmu itu dibukukan kita tidak dapat menguasai? Sebanyak mana pun kita cintakan Bahasa Melayu, kita kena sedar yang Bahasa Melayu itu Lingua Franca di zaman Tok Kadok. Zaman Hang Jebat, Hang Tuah dan Puteri Gunung Ledang. Puteri Gunung Ledang (Tiara) pun reti cakap Bahasa Inggeris. Aku ada seorang kawan dari kampung yang dahulu tak reti berBahasa Inggeris. Setelah beliau belajar dengan tungkus-lumus, beliau dapat menjadi manusia intelek (seorang kapitan kapal antarabangsa). Pernah aku bertanya, "Apa faktor utama anak kampung berjaya macam kau?" Jawabnya, "Kalau Bahasa Inggeris kita tak dapat kuasai, lupakanlah saja angan-angan nak terbang di persada antarabangsa." Perlu aku ingatkan, aku bukan stereotaip ya. Ada Melayu yang bagus. Jangan salah anggap.

 

KEUSAHAWANAN mungkin sudah tersemat di sanubari bangsa Cina sejak azali. Mungkin di negara Cina cuaca 4 musim memaksa mereka berdikari mencari rezeki; manakala, Melayu di hutan tropika senang menangkap ikan, memetik ulam tanpa cuaca yang merumitkan. Hello! Podah! Itu sejarah apa tu? Jangan kau persalahkan sejarah. Melayu senang selesa dan tidak mahu bersusah-payah. Dari zaman British lagi kita sering mencari kerja-kerja yang rendah risiko. Kerja yang ada pencen. Kerja yang tidak mungkin majikan membuang warga kerjanya dan sebagainya. Kalau Melayu berduit sikit, mulalah besar keretanya. Mulalah bertukar perabotnya. Mulalah berkahwin dua, tiga ataupun empat. Kalau boleh, kahwin lima. Sebab tak boleh, simpan perempuan pun jadi. Semasa aku berumur 7 tahun, seringkali aku ke Pasar Seksyen 6 Shah Alam untuk membeli Tau Fu Fa dari seorang apek Cina yang dibantu oleh anak lelakinya yang juga berumur 7 tahun. Apabila berumur 13 tahun, aku sudah hilang ke sekolah asrama dan kemudian terus belajar di luar negara. Apabila aku pulang ke tanahair beberapa tahun kemudian, aku ke pasar semula. Aku bertanya, "Apek, mana lu punya anak?" Jawab Apek, "Aiyaa, gua sudah hantar dia belajar di New Zealand." Macamana tu? Jual air soya dan Tau Fu Fa pun boleh hantar anak belajar luar negara yang dibiayainya sendiri? Apek tersebut cuma mampu menjawab, "Simpan wang sikit-sikit sampai jadi bukit. Sikarang dia sudah belajar, nanti dia balik Apek mau rehat tak mau kerja. Biar anak kerja jadi doktor. Biar anak kasi makan sama saya." Di mana Melayu kita apabila perbandingan dibuat? Perlu aku ingatkan, aku bukan stereotaip ya. Ada Melayu yang bagus. Jangan salah anggap.

KEMASYARAKATAN bermakna berganding bahu sesama sendiri. Banyak sebenarnya Melayu bekerjasama sesama sendiri. Tetapi ada segolongan Melayu yang berhati busuk dan berhasat dengki. Kalau ada jiran yang maju, terus dihina dan dicaci. Terus difitnah dengan pelbagai cerita busuk. Yang paling menyedihkan, ada yang pakai santau dan ilmu hitam. Apa sudah jadi? Kaum Cina berkembang pesat perniagaan mereka dengan cara membantu sesama sendiri. Usah dicerita Chinese Chambers of Commerce kerana di peringkat kampung pun Cina sesama sendiri saling menolong antara satu sama lain. Semasa di sekolah asrama dahulu aku selalu menghabiskan waktu pagi setiap Ahad menjamah nasi lemak di bawah pokok di Ipoh Garden. Entah apa nama makcik yang jual nasi lemak tu? Selepas beberapa tahun aku meninggalkan Ipoh, aku pernah kembali untuk berjumpa kawan-kawan lama. Aku hairan mengapa makcik nasi lemak sudah tidak berniaga; lalu aku bertanya, "Ehhh, apa sudah jadi dengan nasi lemak power tu?" Jawapan menyedihkan menyusul, "Entah bangsat mana pergi santau. Habis pelanggan semua lari. Kesian makcik tu." Perlu aku ingatkan, aku bukan stereotaip ya. Ada Melayu yang bagus. Jangan salah anggap.

ISLAM adalah agama kebanyakkan Melayu. Islam itu suci. Islam itu progresif. Islam itu relevan tak kira zaman. Kalaulah Islam itu kontemporari, kenapa Melayu perlu menjadikan ia mundur. Kenapa perlu lupa yang Islam boleh dipakai walaupun di zaman moden. Kenapa Islam dijadikan sebab kerana sesetengah perkembangan itu disekat? Yang paling ketara ialah apabila seseorang Melayu itu mengejar kekayaan, dianya dianggap tidak berpegang kepada Islam. Kononnya terlampau keduniaan. Kalau hamba Allah tersebut tidak tinggal sembahyang dan sering mengerjakan fardu ain yang lain serta sesekali melakukan fardu kifayah, apa salahnya dia mengejar kekayaan. Orang Islam yang miskin hanya mampu beribadat untuk dirinya sendiri. Kalau ada pun untuk orang lain, mungkin di dalam doanya ataupun di dalam tahap mampunya dia bekerja tanpa gaji untuk aktiviti dakwah. Bayangkan jika orang Islam itu berduit. Bukan sahaja dia boleh beribadat untuk diri sendiri, dia juga boleh membolehkan orang lain beribadat. Kalau ada duit, seseorang Islam boleh membina masjid. Boleh membiayai anak yatim untuk ke sekolah. Boleh membayar gaji kepada ramai lagi pekerja-pekerja Islamnya. Mengapa perlu berfikir negatif? Kononnya kalau berduit senang berbuat dosa. Senang lupa dan sombong. Bila ada duit mula berbelanja tidak ingat akhirat. Mula berjudi dan meminum arak. Itu semua bergantung kepada pilihan. Orang miskin pun boleh berdosa. Malahan, orang miskin lagi senang berdosa. Apabila terdesak, mereka mungkin mencuri, melacur, memakan harta anak yatim, membunuh ataupun bergaduh sesama keluarga atas nama hak tuntutan harta sepeninggalan ayahanda. Terpulanglah. Perlu aku ingatkan, aku bukan stereotaip ya. Ada Melayu yang bagus. Jangan salah anggap.

KEJUJURAN juga seringkali dinodai Melayu yang tidak bertanggungjawab. Kerajaan sudah banyak menghulurkan dana dan subsidi. Wang rakyat ini bertujuan untuk memajukan negara khususnya orang-orang Melayu. Apa Melayu-Melayu ini sudah buat? Duit masuk poket dan perniagaan terbantut. Kononnya subsidi atau geran diperoleh untuk mengembangkan perniagaan, tetapi, kualiti produk yang dikeluarkan amat memalukan. Hanya sekadar menunjukkan adanya produk. Wang selebihnya sudah bertukar menjadi BMW ataupun Mercedes. Banyak juga yang menjual lesen-lesen perniagaan kepada bukan Melayu. Skim ini lebih dikenali sebagai Ali Baba di mana nama pemunya syarikat adalah Melayu tetapi operasi milikan bukan Melayu. Sampai bila Melayu boleh maju? Nampak gaya tak boleh langsung macam ini. Melayu mudah terpedaya dengan wang jangka masa pendek. Mereka tidak mahu melihat jangka masa panjang. Mereka tidak mahu bekerja keras membina perniagaan. Kalau ada yang nak beli lesen dengan harga lumayan, mengapa mesti tolak? Itu yang difikirkan. Lambat laun semua harta Melayu akan tergadai. Melayu akan jadi hamba di negara sendiri. Perlu aku ingatkan, aku bukan stereotaip ya. Ada Melayu yang bagus. Jangan salah anggap.

KEBANGGAAN mungkin di mata sesetengah Melayu adalah sombong. Untuk aku, jika Melayu itu berjaya, perlulah kita banggakan. Kalau tidak, bukannya sombong, bodoh sombong adalah. Kita selalu mengecil-ngecilkan produk kita sendiri. Kita lebih gemar mengagung-agungkan produk Barat yang mungkin, kalau diteliti, jauh lebih rendah kualitinya dari apa yang difikirkan. Sudah banyak contoh orang Asia yang tidak menghiraukan Barat dan melaung-laungkan kehebatan mereka sendiri. Contoh paling ketara ialah jenama Samsung yang dapat menundukkan Apple. Hyundai pernah beberapa kali mendapat jualan kereta terbanyak di Australia. Begitu juga Toyota di Amerika Syarikat. Sony bukan sahaja menguasai bidang elektronik, ianya juga kuat di industri muzik. Di manakah jenama Malaysia? Kalau nak disedihkan lagi, di mana jenama Melayu? Air Asia India yang punya. Star Cruise Cina yang punya. Nama-nama terulung Malaysia di persada antarabangsa semuanya bukan Melayu seperti Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh, Dato' Jimmy Choo, Zangtoi dan ramai lagi. Kalau ada pun, Dato' Ramli Ibrahim. Itupun bukan tarian Melayu yang diketengahkan. Apa yang Melayu boleh tunjuk? Jus Mengkudu? Perlu aku ingatkan, aku bukan stereotaip ya. Ada Melayu yang bagus. Jangan salah anggap.
