2016 Commences with a Newly Revised Budget

AS the Global economy further plunges, Malaysia is dragged along. As a consequence, remedy is inevitable, in a more sacrificial manner. 2016 Budget had to be cut. However, PM Najib Razak soothes the citizens with a positive and moderate budget. Development is still on albeit slower pace. Human Capital remains as key focus. Reliance on oil revenues have been reduced to 14% only. Diversification and tax reform kicks in. Trans Pacific agreement has begun for a more promising open economy. Ringgit has stabilised as observed in the past 6 months. Operational expenditures have been masively cut particularly subsidies. Hopefully 2016 will be a year when Malaysia emerges from the deep ocean. To complete the picture, here are the slides presented by Y.A.B.
