There have been many reactions to what the Government is doing. They cut on sugar subsidy. They cut on oil subsidy. Tariff has been increased and new broad base taxation system introduced. People are angry. But, what are they angry at? Why are they angry about? Are they blind to notice that our coffers are getting lighter? Do we want to share the same fate as the bankrupt nation of Argentina? Did we not do the same back in 1998 when we sacrificed significant wealth of the nation to save the economy? Do they not comprehend that when at war, tapioca replaces rice? I think we have been pampered way too much. Do away with that subsidy mind set. Discard that grantreprenuership drive. When honest efforts are put in, nature has a way of rewarding. Perhaps we should take stock how much have we taken for granted in the past? Take stock how much we have taken from her (Malaysia)? And most importantly, take stock how much we have given her? The poem below puts things into perspective..... just a bit more .....

CART INFRONT OF THE HORSE

Damn you draught animals...
Pull those two wheels
Pull!!!!
And is this how our people work?
Standing tall with arrogance
Mistaken generosity as their right
Perhaps God gave them to the world
And they feel it that way too
They feel it that way too?

Pull those heavy carts
Fools!!!
And whence the cart is placed infront
They muse with sarcasm
Misjudging remedy as punishment
Let the horse now push with its head
And let them now despise
And should we even care anyway?

Damn you lazy bastards...
Put your hearts to work
Roll!!!!
And let there be no more grants
And independent we shall be
Misled we were on the weight of the coffers
Naive not we are now, we hope
Facing our destiny and shaping our fate
We pray that never we join the Argentinians

Damn you horses...
You now push those carts with your heads....
